Project

Ecza Vitrini

I built Ecza Vitrini, an online pharmacy selling dermocosmetics, vitamins and personal care products, from scratch with WooCommerce and Elementor. I developed the store, which carries thousands of products, to run on a phone as smoothly and quickly as a shopping app.

Project story

The need, the solution, the result.

The challenge

Ecza Vitrini is an online pharmacy offering more than two thousand products in areas such as dermocosmetics, skin and hair care, vitamins and dietary supplements. The product range is wide and the category structure runs deep.

In a store of this size, two needs stood out. Customers had to find the product they wanted within seconds. And despite dozens of images and filter tools, the site had to open and run fast on a phone. An off-the-shelf theme could not meet both needs at once, so the store had to be built from the ground up around them.

What I did

I developed the store from scratch with WooCommerce and Elementor, without a ready-made theme. WooCommerce is the plugin that adds store features to WordPress. Wherever Elementor fell short, I wrote custom code.

  • Live search: The search box lists products instantly as you type. Besides the product name, you can also search by SKU and barcode.
  • Filtering: I added category, brand and price filters plus sorting to the category pages. In the filters, the options with the most products appear at the top.
  • Mobile experience: For phones, I designed a bottom navigation bar, a drop-down category menu and a panel that slides up from the bottom when you add a product to the cart.
  • Sales-boosting recommendations: I built a "Bunlarla İyi Gider" ("Goes well with these") section that suggests products to use with the item just added to the cart, plus a recommendation system based on what is in the cart. I defined complementary and alternative product pairings in bulk.
  • Favorites: I developed a favorites list built into the theme, without relying on a plugin.
  • Speed optimization: I built a setup that loads only the style code each page needs first, and a very fast cache system for the product cards. This cache stores a ready-made copy of the pages and serves it to visitors quickly.

The result

After optimization, the mobile PageSpeed score rose to 96. (PageSpeed Insights is Google's free tool that measures a page's speed and technical health.)

Ecza Vitrini now offers more than two thousand products in a store that opens fast on a phone, makes the product you want easy to find and naturally guides customers to complementary products.
